There are two basic escape routes from the building - you can go UP or DOWN! The DOWN route takes you past the Horace Lamb Theatre and the Fire Control Panel. The UP route takes you to the Plaza Area. Should you go down the small stairway towards the rear of the Computer Science department; you will need to move people quickly away from the loading bay area at the bottom of the stairwell as this area may be needed by fire crews and represents a potential hazard from heavier than air toxic gases.
In either case, you are to move the mass of people who have just been evacuated and any passers-by well away from the building. In case of a real fire, the MFS will require access to the building. Please note the (obvious) fact that Officer in charge of the fire appliance will take over "control" of the building if there is a real fire! Since there will be a number of Wardens assembled, one should remain to liase with the Chief/Deputy Warden and/or Emergency services and the rest should try to control the crowd! Someone will need to take control of the doors to prevent people from trying to re-enter the building.
Since the wardens at the top of the building will not have any direct communications with the Chief warden, communication by a "runner" is the most likely way you'll find out when it is safe to re-enter the building.
