CHAPTER 18 Version Change Log

This chapter represents the changes from one version to another since the specification was placed under revision change control. Changes from the latest version to the earliest are found in reverse chronological order. Each revision set also includes the status of revision approvals by the AIRE Change Review Board.

This section is intended to meet ISO-9000 process control requirements.

There are no change control yet as this is the initial version. It is numbered 3.0 to match the IIR Specification that it intends to match.

18.1 Open Issues

· Variable sized extension data is currently disallowed This could be relaxed by the establishment of an extra IR_Int32 to specify the length of extension data on any record with variable extension data. The records that would have variable extension data would be indicated in an additional array in the header. Also variable extension data would require more info in the Proxy records.

· Proxy records, handling extension classes, and variable data fields.

· Alignment of FIR records is undefined

· A FIR that is only part of a file. (partial FIR_DesignFile, maybe only one FIR_LibraryUnit)

· Nature Definitions in type (chapter 11 scalar, composite, array, record natures). Nature declaration in decl.doc

· DesignUnitList for achitectures in FIR_EntityDeclaration

· Identification of trailer
