The IETF Integrated Service Model: Architecture and Scheduling The Integrated Service (IntServe) Model is the proposed model for providing Quality of Service (QoS) to individual flows in the Internet. Although per-flow QoS is not proposed as an end-to-end solution to QoS in the Internet, due to scaling problems, it is likely to be an integral part of admission control at the edges of the network. In this talk, I will present the architecture of the Integrated Service model, the main per-hop scheduling mechanisms for providing bounded delays to flows, and how IntServe fits in with other new Internet protocols and proposed standards (MPLS, IPv6, DiffServe, RSVP) to provide QoS on the Internet.
