ApproachThe implementation of traceability solution enabled by automatic data capture technologies such as RFID is hindered by a number of technical, social and educational constraints. The objective of the PeerTrack project is to research, develop and implement tools to enable the deployment of traceability applications in Australia and globally. The PeerTrack project consists of a series of industry oriented activities and, research and technical development activities.
Industrial ActivitiesRequirements and industrial inputIndustrial activities will identify the business opportunities, analyse the requirements, map the requirements with the available technologies and standards, identify problem areas The business applications addressed in PeerTrack are:
PilotDeploy solutions developed in the previous clusters at an industrial level. Evaluate the performance of the system to ensure that we meet various business requirements. The results of this cluster of activities will produce a guideline for future deployment and training material for business clients.
Research and Technical ActivitiesThese activities will develop data models for serial level data representation along with dynamic supply chain models for supporting traceability applications based on business requirements. Develop high level traceability query processing to enable trace and track queries to answer business related questions regarding objects. Investigate query propagation techniques for efficient processing of user requests for information on peer-to-peer networks. Integration activities will develop software and network solutions to support access and sharing of gathered information with business applications over the Internet. Here we will address technical issues related to scalability by developing a truly distributed solution using peer-to-peer networking technologies. The result of this cluster will be provided to the business partners to enable pilot applications and implementations.
