OverviewA principal focus of this project is to develop an architecture where functionalities can be distributed and RFID data can be fully shared across multiple nodes in large RFID networks without any centralised design. Research clusters will develop the required architecture and related modules for ditributed data management in large scale RFID traceability networks to provide efficient and effective support to traceability applications. ChallengesRealising full-fledged distributed architecture is a significant challenge for developing and deploying large scale applications that involve numerous receptors such as RFID-enabled, nation-wide drug tracking. Many current RFID applications are small-scale and closed-loop (e.g., toll collection) and their platforms present very limited support on large scale applications. We aim to provide a solutions to the challegnes imposed by independent organisations sharing data in large-scale and distributed applications.
