Access to University of Adelaide Electronic Resources

Usernames & Passwords

The username for all University of Adelaide resources is the student ID which must be prefixed by the letter 'a' (eg. a1071234). The password / PIN number for such resources is the number on your enrolment confirmation notice. If you have misplaced your enrolment confirmation notice, you may receive confirmation of your pin from the Student Centre if you contact them by telephone: +61 8 8303 5208. They will then post your PIN to you.

Changing Your Password

All students should choose a suitable password for their University of Adelaide username. This should be something that you can easily remember, but it should not be easy for others to guess. For guidance on how to change your password, or what to do if you forget your password, please consult this website: http://www.adelaide.edu.au/its/accounts/password/.

Online Enrolments

As of 2006, the University has moved towards an Online Enrolment System through an interface with Access Adelaide. You now have the ability to enrol and amend your enrolments wherever there is Internet access.

Before logging on to Access Adelaide it is recommended that you plan your enrolments for the entire year, while planning your enrolments you will need to keep in mind the pre-requisites of particular courses. Please read the notes on Planning Your Computer Science Studies.

Once logged on to Access Adelaide using your username and password you will be required to complete an Enrolment Checklist. This is a series of 7 steps ranging from checking and entering your address to entering your expected graduation year. All 7 steps must be completed before you can enrol.

From Term 2, 2009, Computer Science course enrolments in NAAEC will use a pre-enrolment system to ensure that students enrol in the correct courses. When this system is in use you will not be able to enrol in courses using Access Adelaide. With this system all requested course enrolments will be checked to ensure that students meet the requirements of their program. If too many students attempt to enrol in a course, the enrolment requests in excess of the class size will automatically join a wait listing queue. If a student attempts to enrol in a course when the result of a pre-requisite course is not yet available, the enrolment will be recorded as a provisional enrolment. When the pre-requisite course's results are known, the provisional enrolment will be rechecked and may be rejected.

With the pre-enrolment system, student enrolments do not appear in Access Adelaide until after the first teaching weekend of each course. Prior to that, student enrolments can be modified using the pre-enrolment system.

When amending your enrolments it is very important that you are fully aware of the census dates and the related penalties that apply. See the Important Dates page for details.

An Offshore Online Enrolment Guide Book has been drafted to help you smoothly navigate your way through the online enrolment process. This booklet will be included in your Orientation Pack. Copies will also be available from the NAAEC Office.

Access to Results

If you ever require a copy of your unofficial transcript for reimbursement purposes etc, you can access this information online.

http://www.access.adelaide.edu.au

  • Enter your Username and Password
  • Select the link Academic Results
  • You can then view and print your unofficial transcript for the year, and check any upcoming enrolment details.

Student Cards

Students will be issued with student cards shortly after their enrolment forms have been processed. The student cards are valid for the calendar year they are issued. The student cards display the personalised student ID number which will be used in communication from the the University and the NAAEC. Please take note of this number for future reference. The student card provides details that are essential for student access to online resources. The username for such resources is the student ID and must be prefixed by the letter 'a' (eg. a1071234). The password / PIN number for such resources is the number on your enrolment confirmation notice. Please change your password as soon as possible.
